Leadership and direction

Lack of leadership has resulted in fragmented policy development. The departmental structure creates a silo mentality, causing inefficiencies which, in turn, cost time and money. I want to bring in more joined-up thinking where departments sign up to agreed policy priorities, with Key Performance Indicators in place to assess success.

Government is not a business but should act in a more business-like manner. This will not be possible unless there is strong leadership and direction with everyone working towards the same goals.
